Cellular Phone Cover Clip - Design

Background

A client requested a clip that would seal a PVC sachet, preventing dust and water to enter.  The product would be used with offshore and mining industries.  Initially to be used to seal two-way radios but also for cellular phones.

Conclusion:

Several conceptual designs were made.  One design was selected and a 3D CAD model was made.  Manufacturing drawings were made as well as general assembly drawings.  The client was not certain of the PVC sachet width.  I recommended that the injection moulded tooling to feature an insert design, enabling them to produce both clips, 120mm and 150mm wide.  The inserts can then be interchanged to the varying market requirements.
